EGR Issues
Hello all, My truck is giving me a PO401 EGR fault along with a missfire on cylinders 1 & 3, My question is could the EGR cause the engine misfire? also does anyone have a picture of the EGR location on a 02 f250? I also have a PO316 code for the crank sensor...if anyone knows the position for that i'd greatly appreciate any help.Thanks

egr is located directly behind the intake elbow it will have 2 8mm bolts to hold it in place and right infront of the oil filter housing...pull it and it is most likely carbonedmake sure you clean the intake...now they can be carboned due to egr and or oil coolers going bad...they will also need to be reset after replacing them...as for the cylinders missfiring it is most likely due to both injectors going bad usually due to low fuel pressure check the fuel quality, filters and fuel pressure...injectors 1 and 3 are both on the right side...hope this helps
