A blond coctail conjurur and something else. Now being the sweet old guy I am I would nearly say she is teasing us, That profile could shore get some imaginations going.

I'm sure glad I'm nearly too old for that. lol

Lol, Tom, you need to come over to OBN more often, she had that siggy on there from the get-go. The moment she said her sig here is gonna be useless as far as truck ID goes I had the gut feeling what she'll put in there, and sure enough! Gotta give it to her tho, she is rather creative

Can't really imagine her as a bouncer tho, not with that description in the other thread... Unless she's a ninja or something, which she very well may be - these days one never knows where ninjas can be hiding, for all we know they are in plain sight right here among us, just waiting for the right moment to strike!

And Star, "bimbo" does not necessarily mean she's blond, not according to the dictionary at least. I personally think she has pink hair, that will go very well with her black truck

Oh yes, personality makes all the difference in that kinda environment, looks count a lot too but it's the personality that wins regular clientele - which makes me wonder why customers always wanted to talk to me when I was at my desk job years ago, they must have just not known any better, lol

I like the compressor idea... though, a second alternator would be nice for redundancy. I know the alts on these trucks are pretty good, but things tend to fail when you are 100 miles from civilization. A second alternator would be nice, especially in a commercial setting where time is money.

Running headlights, heater and trailer lighting? Electric brakes, hydro assist, creature comforts? A second alternator would allow you to keep going without having to ever stop. Just sayin.

Hmm, well this is something else I am not telling - have you ever heard of a ninja revealing to the world they are a ninja? Nope, and it will never happen, as there is a code of secrecy to live by. I will, however, tell you this much - I am half-Japanese, so maybe, just maybe...

Not as much as I could be making if I were to move to a different establishment, however those places also attract a different crowd and I am not sure I will be able to put up with their insanity and stupidity for too long - most of my regulars are fairly low-key people, some are actually quite well-to-do but they simply prefer to not show it off. You could say the setting is somewhat similar to what you boys have going on here, one big happy and very dysfunctional family

So, like, have one alternator running all the time, with the another identical alternator as a backup? With a switch that allows you to select left or right alternator, just like how you select front or rear tank?

You could just wire both alternators in "parallel"... Meaning, just have both of them running all the time and wired the same. All you have to do is run B+ to the battery and run the exciter wire from the original alt to the second one. That'll distribute the load to each alternator equally and, if necessary one alternator can automatically pick up the load should one alternator fail or the belt break. And if you are fabricating a bracket, you don't necessarily have to use the Ford alternator. You could run a smaller European or Japanese alternator so long as the belt fits in the pulley. You could get a tiny 60 amp from an old BMW to run as your secondary and still have room for a compressor, I bet. Just make sure the rotational direction is the same. In fact, if you really wanted to get fancy with your bracket fabrication, you could probably run a full size Ford alternator and a compressor. There's plenty of room in that area of the engine bay.

Most IDI alternators are 1G with the external regulator so you'll have to install a second VR fof the other alternator, which is no big deal, BUT! wouldn't the two alternators "see" each other through the battery and end up "fighting each other? Would you say that maybe some diodes would be needed on the battery-sensing wires to isolate the VRs from seeing each other (piece of cake job)? Also, add two more diodes on the battery charging cables to prevent one alternator from feeding current back into the other alternator - this is where things should get interesting, as them diodes need to be pretty big cause they would be handling (at least in my case) some 130 amps each - where does one even find such monsters?
