Dropping the EX

Well guys I am going to lower my EX its just too much for the Wife and my Black lab will not jump into it. It is currently 8 in it has a leaf lift in back with factory ford 3 in block and 8 in fabtech springs in front my idea is to remove the 3 in block from the rear and add 5 in lift front springs to replace the 8 in ones. and run 315 75 16 any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It will most likely be 6-inch springs in the front, they usualy come in 4 or 6. It may require a different track bar bracket and pitman also. Good luck.

I ran this setup on my old 04 f250 6.0 cc shortbed using procomp springs, we did the install for an article in OffRoad magazine back in 04, the things to look out for are parking brake cable issues(without a block the cable may rub on the spring), some manufacturers use 4" lift springs for a pickup as 6" Excursion springs. I would use 4" pickup springs, I found that 4" procomp springs lifted the then new 04 6.0 cc fx4 f250 5" inches in front, Fabtech springs tended to settle more, but rode well,as did superlift. A 4.5 inch hanger kit and new xcode ford springs would also be in the ballpark. 2" hangers could be used if 4" lift springs were to low, but these combos are all faily tall.
