The name reminds me of a place around here called Truck Toyz where a bunch if dip-*****s do their installs. I wouldn't take my truck there to have window visors put on for fear my truck would never run again. Anyways, not saying your place is like that, but if you're not sure I would definitely check into it and probably take my truck to another credible shop to have it fixed (and again, I say all that based on if you find out your guys botched the job).
Have you ever sat in the truck and watched it start? Shouldnt the WTS light be on and then go off just as if I had the key in it and was starting it manually? I'm afraid the glow plugs arent being used and thats my only indication aside from pulling one and watching it.

Oh I don't have a remote start myself. I just know it shouldn't be doing what you're describing. And yes, if you start it with the remote start, you should see all the same lights on the gauges as if you started it with the key.
I just had the Viper 5901 installed on my 06 and its not working very well. It will only turn over 3 times after waiting for quite some time with no success. If I turn it off with the remote and then try it again, it fires up after 2 or 3 cranks. I sat in it today and tried and the WTS light never came on but the truck turned on and waited about 15 seconds before it cranked 3 times and didnt start. Oh and it wont try again after an unsuccessful attempt like my old Viper did on my Cherokee. Does any of this sound normal?
I have the same alarm and smart start. I have an 05 and it works fine. Car toys did my first viper in this truck and it had a remote start. It never started very good either. I had a different shop do this install and it works perfect. Take it back and have them add a second to the starting process. Its just not cranking long enough. It should try and start a few times if it doesnt fire the first time. They need to spend some time adjusting it. They just set it to a standard setting and pushed it out the door becasue it worked in a heated shop. It will work fine if they do the job they should have done the first time.
