Cab floor coatings

I am doing some extensive work to my 81 Courier, and have run into an issue: A properly fitting rubber floor mat is not available. I want to be able to knock down some of the noise, as well as hose it out after playing in the mud, so i need something other than the carpet I'm pulling out. I have found mention of people using Plasti-Dip for this sort of thing, but haven't been able to find anything saying "yes, I've used plasti-dip" or any indication of how well it holds up.
This looks like the best option without spending several hundred to have a spray in liner done.

If you use some kind of polymer coating, you might want to through a couple of handfulls of sand in/on it. It will give it a little texture and you won't slip and slide when it gets damp. I haven't done a floor yet, but I do plan on doing something along the lines of super prep work and then something along the lines of POR15's bedliner stuff.

I didn't know POR-15 had a bedliner kit. I had thought about using bedliner, but I have had bad luck with the spray on stuff in the cans. The POR-15 stuff looks great, but is a bit pricey. Although, I would be able to do both the bed and cab with that amount.
I know that grip stuff isn't too slippery, but adding sand does sound like a good option. Another thing I had considered was painting it on, and then press in heavy rubber floor mats, gluing them in place.

I have used plasti-dip on tool handles and such and I can't imagine that it could hold up to floorboard use. I would use a paint on bed liner like herculiner or duplicolor's brand. Cheap, easy and will look good if you do it right.

Anyone ever heard of Lizard Skin undercoating. Looks like a great product, and not to bad of a price.. I seen it on the Powerblock tv shows

That's one of the sound deadener's. It should be a mostly butyl compound that doesn't dry and is extremely heavy for it's volume. Not really ideal for a flooring, but it should be great for places you don't come into contact with, such as inside doors, under the body.

I've been using Raptorliner on the last few projects and seems to be working out well. The Lizard skin would help with sound more. I quit using Herculiner due to it fading so bad. Anything you use, I wouldn't glue the floor mats in with it. Velcro tape them in if concerned about them moving.
