My dad came down from MI yesterday and we WERE going on a fishing trip today. It would have been my first tow as well. I go place my Diversi-Tech Hitch up to the receiver and it was like a Tic Tac to a whales mouth I found out the hard way that I have a 2.5" receiver Class V. Son of a..... Time for a new hitch! BTW, I will have a DT billet 6" drop adjustable for sale shortly
It will not work with an adapter. The lock pins are built into the hitch making it a secure device and are not long enough for the adapter and the receiver itself. I will just sell it and buy another.
Doesn't ordering the 12.5K Towing get you the smaller receiver. When we eventually order one, I am planning on ordering it that way.
I was curious on how bi the receiver would be without ordering the 12.5K Hitch. I have heard conflicting stories from people on whether it is still 2" or 2.5"
Good to know. I only need the 2" receiver. I have actually seen that it knocks $100 off the price... I know, not huge on a $50K + Vehicle!
Every little bit helps. The 14k 2.5" receiver looks to be standard with the diesels, so I can see why "downgrading" to the 12k would decrement the price.

Hey, it makes the Lariat Interior Package a $895 option then... You are right every little bit counts.
