Thanks for looking guys. Couple of days ago I started having start-up issues. Had to jump it and go that way. Thought it was the alternator but had it all tested and found out I had a bad battery. The truck was fine yesterday. I wake up today and my truck is dead. I noticed my brake lights were on even though my truck was off. Now I have no juice. My alternator? electrical issue? how do I narrow it down?
so I perfomed a multimeter test between the a cable and the post on one of my batteries and the reeading showed a draw of 0.800 amps. pulled all fuses in the cab and under the hood one by one and left them off and disconnected alternator and still at 0.800 amps. no clue what to do next. put a trickle charger on my batter overnight last night and started right up this morning. sat for about 4 hours and I went to crank it and it was dead again. is there anything else that still draws when all fuses are pulled and alternator disconnected?
Look at the brake light switch on the pedal. Fix the brake light problem first.
think the brake lights were intermittently coming on and off because my batteries were on their last wind. brak lights stay off when it is charged and running. thanks for the reply though. im stumped.
