Note quite sure if I'm using the wrong terminoloy with Bad Alterantor Diodes.
But here is my issue. I started to get an electrical drain on my 2000 4x4 Diesel Excursion after installing a new DB Electrical Alternator. My batteries were drain twice.
I just hooked up an Ammeter on the positive connection and got a reading of 0.53 amps. When I disconnected the positive wire connection on the alternator the reading was 0.02 amps.
So I have a bad alternator? Just wanted to double check. From reading another article, it mentions that normally it should not draw more than 0.05 amps with everything off.
Does the alternator have an exciter wire that connects to the ignition to turn it off when you shut down the engine or is it self exciting. Also you could give a call to DB, I hear that their customer support is top notch.

It does have a plug in the back as well with 2 wires.
