Electrical Issue/Drain - Help Needed...

Go to start the EX today and the batteries are dead. Any ideas on how to track down the issue? Did the usual check of lights in the cabin. No accessories plugged into the outlet.

To give you a background. Have a 2000 Diesel Excursion with yellow tops now, but had 15 month Costco batteries before.

My truck alternator died during the big snow storm in VA in early February. I replaced the alternator on 2/13 with a DB Electrical. I charged the batteries before starting it up. Everything is fine. Truck sat for about 2 weeks. On 2/27, I tried to start the EX and the batteries were dead again. Figure it might be a battery issue with the cold and maybe cheap Costco batteries. I ordered two (2) yellow tops and install them on 3/7. Everything seems fine. Truck sat for another couple of weeks. Now today, I go try to start it and the new yellow tops are dead.

Any ideas? With the DB Electrical, I did add 4gauge from the alternator to he driver's side battery positive. Then a 4gauge from the passenger negative to the body.

I'm tired and frustrated as I've had other issues recently like the driver's side calipers locking up and needing to replace it. Seems like when it rains, it pours . I know, I should search first, but frustrated and will search next.

Thanks. Later...

- Wayne

Check the fuse box below the hood, pull the two Maxi fuses and see if they're burnt. (one is a 30 amp and one is a 60 amp)

I had a battey drain problem after my alt went out. I had to replace the fuseable link on the pass fender at the starter solinoid relay. Then traced the battery drain to the Glow Plug Controller Module. I did not have the regular relay. Battery drain fixed. After I replaced the relay.

Do you have a pic as to where this relay might be? I don't remember seeing a fusable link....
