292 Timing

292 Timing
Does anyone know what the base timing should be on a '64 292 yblock? I've tried searching but seems like it might varry by year. Truck has a manual tranny if that makes a difference.

About 10-12 degrees initial timing is the general consensus,though factory specs call for a bit lower.F250,you might want to go to the Y-Block section of FTE for more in-depth discussion,also check out Y-Blocks Forever site.Here's a discussion on timing from their site:
