X2 Pop, if theres vehicle inspections in Dom's state I don't think any qualified tech would throw a state inspection sticker on it even if it did roll down the road.
I would think he oil pan would be dragging the ground or you wouldn't be able to have a hood plus the weight thing like said before a cummins 4BT might fit and would be more practical
I just get an overall feeling that this would wind up being the lead in sentence to a Jeff Foxworthy joke but, what do I know.
Something you may not be considering is the lack of a frame on such a vehicle. I seriously doubt that a uni-body construction would support the power plant and even if it did, wouldn't do it for long. Also, I think you'll also find the torque produced by a 7.3 would twist the body in a short amount of time rendering the vehicle useless except for "bragging" rights. Sounds to me like a bad idea and a total waste of time and money but YMMV.
A long time ago my dad taught me there is a big difference between "can" and "should" and I would need to apply good judgment to tell the difference. Good luck on your journey.

There's 10 minutes of my life I'll never get back...
I have a better idea. I want to put a built 7.3 in a Cobra kit..... mmmm.... 500hp with 1100 ft-lbs in a 2500 lb. car. At least it was meant to hold a big block....
Droppin one of these in a 2000 subaru 2.5RS? What you think?
Don't listen to these other guys. Hell yeah I think it's a good idea. But we will need lots of pics. Do you have either the sub or the engine right now?
The biggest motor I've seen in a Subaru is a Ford 302. It was an older model - early to mid '90's.
With a little ingenuity, you can put a small block in anything. I've seen them in Miatas, Rangers, Pintos, even an MG. And motorcycles. My all-time fave being the MG :
I'd suggest a 4bt or a izuzu 4 cylinder. Ive seen an izuzu diesel in a rx7 running on Bio it was sweet. I mean a 7.3 is not a Ford product anyway just came in one
Well I'm all about doing things that are far fetched and haven't been done b4. I can't imagine it fitting without a chit load of serious mods. You're always gonna meet resistance when asking opinions on a topic such as this that merge foreign and domestic, however if you posted it after your project you probably would've got a lot more "kudos". And that's from someone who has studied psychology and human behavior. lol Good Luck tho!

Thanks dude, and yes, we have the subie, and we're picking up the motor in the few days.
