so what you're sayin is that common sense is too much to ask?
No, that's not what I'm saying. See? I was EXTREMELY clear in my communication with you, yet you still misunderstood. Oi-vey! (BTW, my sarcasm trumps your sarcasm)
I was very clear in MY communication to you. I said YOU didn't communicate properly and took you to task for it. Just get over yourself and post properly, yeesh.
Be clear and don't make people assume.
Another thing you need to learn, there's nothing common about common sense.
Thanks dude, and yes, we have the subie, and we're picking up the motor in the few days.
OK, you have the car, so what do you know about the 7.3 diesel? What trans are you putting behind it? What rear end are you planning on using? This 7.3 will likely twist the sub in half if you get on it very hard with the torque it has. lol.
I want to see how that engine will fit with a radiator, intercooler, trans cooler, oil cooler, and that huge transmission in a car with a tiny or no transmission tunnel. It's gonna take a bunch of tube work to make strength and crossmembers. In the end it will be a hacked up stupid looking piece with a ton of money in it and no value.
I thought discussions about Subaru's are supposed to be about love? Can't we all just get along?
I think if you read Dom's last post to me, and mine to him, especially with all the smilies, you can see me and him are actually having a bit of fun with each other, and nothing is really serious.
I also love my Subaru (2005 STi; 385 HP and 397 TQ to the wheels).
I find engine swaps intriguing, but the thought of a 7.3 in an RS is pretty absurd. You would definitely not just be "droppin it in".
If you really want to add a 7.3 to a Subaru, at least pick a Brat or Baja and make a half way decent truck out of it. But if your main goal is a diesel Subaru and you want to pull it off realistically, import a new diesel boxer from Europe and go to town.
