There are plenty of cool things to put a 7.3 in, a Subi is NOT one of them

The engine would weigh as much as the entire rest of the car.

Your subbie would not hold one of these engines. You would have to completely rebuild the frame and everything else. You may as well be sittin in the back seat as well. Cuz you'll find that our engines are alot longer than you think. The turbo will be sittin in the where you gear shifter sits. But if you got the money, time, and know how..........good luck. I dont think you'll even find strong enough suspention parts to hold a 1,000+ pound engine.

That thing would ride like a chihuahua pup trying to carry a big stick.
Rear feet completely off the ground.

Nothing wrong with a 7.3 Subaru. Isin't it all about the LOVE anyway? Its what makes a Subaru a Subaru. Even though the engine weight itself exceeds the GVWR, the front to rear weight ratio is somewhere around 95% front and 5% rear, can you imagine the MPG? If it doesn't snap like a number 2 pencil I bet the highway MPG will beat the heck out of my 19 MPG mixed city/hwy average. For me, I am keeping an open mind about it. A little 7.3L love for the Subaru might be a good thing.

Maybe he meant dropping in a subu at each corner ? Then he'd have 16 wheel drive, and steerable ends as well? 7.3 in a subu..... lol

A friend and I worked it out (we think lol). He's obessed with subies and I love fords so we thought we'd try this. I just thought I'd get some of your opionons on it. I usaully spend most of my time on the dentside forums cuz that's what my truck is. SO I'm not a new punk kid around here looking to beef up his rice burner. Would like it if I'm not treated as such.

Could possibly mount it backwards with the main engine weight back towards the rear wheels and the tranny ending up front near a stearable front axle (couldn't use the old transaxle). I would be interested in pics if anyone ever did do it.
