ok but theyll work? i wont have to swap out rails or anything?
It depends on what truck, and what type of seat you get them out of. General rule of thumb is what I posted in post #7. I'm not sure of 1992 and newer, but it should be simular up untill 1997. 1980-1991 is pretty straight forward.
Swapping out rails isn't hard though. Just unbolt them, and bolt in a new set. You may have to drill into the seat frame, you may not have to. Too many variables.
The floor pans are not, but the seats are swappable.
All F-series Front bench seats are swappable. 1980-1996/7 no matter if it's regular, crew or super cab.
Crew Cab: both front and rear bench seat.
Standard Cab bench
Supercab: Front Bench only.
All the above are Bolt on swaps. No drilling required.
=====================
1980-1991 F-series, Captains Chairs. The middle holes will have to be drilled, and reinforced if the truck did not come with them. The outer four holes will line up.
That is Correct. Why you have to drill the middle holes to place them in a regular cab truck or any truck that does not have factory installed captains chairs. The outer four holes will line up with any of the F-series seats however. And yes you can put buckets in the back of a crew cab with this same technique.
Broncos, the seat tracks that attach to the seats are different and none of the holes will line up with the F-series. The seat tracks can be unbolted from the seat and swapped however.
All correct. I just went through all this a few months ago during my restoration project. I even posted a thread with pictures trying to figure out why my new seats wouldn't work because I wrongly assumed all 80-96 Bronco seats were direct bolt-ins for all 80-96 F150s. I scored a set of Eddie Bauer leather buckets out of a 95 Bronco and they didn't bolt right into my 81 Extended cab due to the floor pan contour differences listed above. I had to swap the seat brackets from the F150 seats onto the bottom of the Bronco seats, but that was easy to do.
Ok so now the question in my head is if i need to swap rails...do i use the rails from my bench seat or what? Im sorry if it sounds stupid im just trying to get all my facts straight before i jump in

Ask questions, this is how we all learn.
To answer your question, it depends on the seat you get and out of what vehicle.
If you get captains chairs out of a extended cab or crew cab. The original rails will work. Just drill new holes. If you get the seat out of a bronco, you will need to find the rails out of an extended cab that matches the seat in the bronco. Any old rotten torn up seat is good for finding rails etc...
If you want to use a bench seat out of a 1973-1979, use the rails on your bench seat now.
As I said before too many variables to be precise. It depends on the seat you want to buy and the vehicle it comes from.
The factory center consoles 1980-1991 are really nice. Don't dismiss them untill you look at them.

^What he said. Reading all your posts, your swap could be very simple. The buckets you got should have the seat rails under them, if you didn't get them with the seats and you can, go back and get those rails. Then its as simple as drilling holes for each seat. Most guys here seemed to had good luck using large fender washers on each side of the hole to reinforce the holes you drill.
If you don't have the rails for your buckets currently on hand, I'd recommend a trip to a junk yard and get yourself a set. That's what I had to do to mate my Bronco bucket seats to my F150 (bench seat installed). I just had to get a set of F150 bucket seat rails and bolt them to the Bronco seats which was very easy. I think I only had to drill one maybe two holes in each seat frame to bolt the rails to the seats.
Don't worry about asking questions. There is a wealth of info. here and a huge willingness to help out as I've found out the past year or so here. Let us know what route you go with and how it turns out.
thanks guys yall have helped tremendusly. The local Pull-a-part has a massive amount of ext.cab f150's and broncos so finding seats shouldnt be an issue at all. Now heres my idea bare with me here haha
Captains out of a ext. cab/crew cab using there rails, drilling new inner holes and reinforcing them with heavy duty washers or
Captains out of a bronco using the ext. cab/crew cab seat rails and drilling new inner holes reinforced
The reason i wanted to build my own center console was so i could use my sub in the center console(premier 10 slimline) and still have the functionality of a center console
i dunno if this was mentioned or not.. but a while back there was a thread like this. i read it because i want to do the same thing.. your bench seat will not be replaced without some heavy modifications.. nothing is bolt in other than another bench seat..
Bench seat in your truck:
|----|
bucket seats
| |---| |
essentially just pointing out that you'll have to mount the extra 2 brackets.. and that the holes don't line up right on the outside brackets anyway.. you might see if you can buy some custom brackets to help them fit.. i know they make them for little 4banger ricers.. might be a company out there that makes them for our trucks.

The above is somewhat wrong. Reread my post #7.
The post you are remembering is LG wilson's (which has posted in this thread) about the Bronco Seats with bronco brackets fitting them into a supercab. None of those holes lined up. None of the seats from a bronco including the split bench will fit right in anything else, without changing the tracks, (which is what he did). This includes the Regular cab, Extended cab and Crew Cab.
The outer holes line up. If you use the brackets from the extended cab seats. The inner holes is all that has to be drilled.

^ Right. Just the inner holes will have to be drilled if you are using F150 rails. Bronco rails won't line up length or width wise with the holes and they also have a different contour if you will on the bottom and don't match the contour of the F150 floorpan.
Mine was super easy because the truck originally came with bucket seats, but my father in law put in a bench later, so my floor pan already had the holes for the buckets. Just had to make another 200 mile round trip to the junkyard to get the rails.
