Move both front seats forward to let pressure off of the second row. This happened to me when I first got mine.

Put a small amount of silicone based lube release gears if it feels like it's hanging up. I always have to move them around a bit to get mine to release also. But is easier with a small amount of lube.

Are both seats designed to slide forward or just the smaller one?

Pull up on the black side lever and force them up. They will come.

Were you ever able to get the seats up? What did you have to do?

Yes, I got the seat up... moved the front seat forward, but still had to push the flipped portion forward... cant believe that just a small amount of pressure against it prevented it from coming up. I really think it needs to be lubed , but not exactly sure what to lube. Have to get truck in for service and will bring to their attn. Never had this probelm before.

Thanks for the info. Keep us informed if this could be a ongoing problem.

My seat was stuck, the 60 side, so I pulled it forward and pushed pretty hard on it, it sprung forward, I greased it, works wonderfully now, greased the other side while I was at it.
