I wanna get rid of my bench seat and put in some buckets and a center consol or something like that. Any one know what seats are interchangable? Like wil seats from an expedition or f250 fit? I have a std. cab any input will help
I think seats from 1980 through 1996 or 1997 will fit. Broncos had buckets if I recall. Some of the 90s trucks had bench seats with a flip-down center armrest/console with cupholders molded in.
The only thing about going to buckets is that you lose seating capacity. In a standard cab truck, that could be a problem if you needed to take more than one person somewhere with you.
The floor on the bronco is slightly different and so is the brackets and where they mount on the floor if I remember rightly. But those can be swapped by removing them from the seat and getting the correct ones.
Best is to get a set of buckets out of a supercab.
Also be aware the center holes will have to be drilled in the floor for the console and inner seat supports on the buckets. The outer holes should line up.
Loosing the seat space aint a big deal to me seeing as my trucks manual i dont really have anyone sitting in the middle ever. and i was going to make my own center consol anyway. so i think im gonna try and find some seats out of a supercab
There are 3 different floor pans so seats are not always interchangable
One floor pan is the reg cab and the front AND rear of the crew cab
Another floor pan is the supercab
Another floor pan is the bronco.
the 3 floor pans listed above Are NOT interchangable, without modifications.
The floor pans are not, but the seats are swappable.
All F-series Front bench seats are swappable. 1980-1996/7 no matter if it's regular, crew or super cab.
Crew Cab: both front and rear bench seat.
Standard Cab bench
Supercab: Front Bench only.
All the above are Bolt on swaps. No drilling required.
=====================
1980-1991 F-series, Captains Chairs. The middle holes will have to be drilled, and reinforced if the truck did not come with them. The outer four holes will line up.
As far as i know bucket seats were NEVER an option in a Reg cab pick up except in a 93-95 lightning
That is Correct. Why you have to drill the middle holes to place them in a regular cab truck or any truck that does not have factory installed captains chairs. The outer four holes will line up with any of the F-series seats however. And yes you can put buckets in the back of a crew cab with this same technique.
Broncos, the seat tracks that attach to the seats are different and none of the holes will line up with the F-series. The seat tracks can be unbolted from the seat and swapped however.
I just put some Eddie Bauer buckets from a 90's Bronco in my 83 single cab. Had to do some mods but not too bad. If I knew how to I would post some pics. I think it turned out pretty neat.
I added some photos in my album if you would like to see.

Reason: adding info
yea ive been kinda wanting to do the opposite get rid of my seats idk what its considered its the kind that the center seat folds down into a cup holders and a storage thing. i want just a straight up bench seat. Im glad they fit 80-96
Ok so if i found some captains chairs out of a 92-96 f150 supercab they will work? ill just have to drill new holes for the bolts that dont line up?
Drill new holes and reinforce them. The floor pan is not strong enough just for drilling and bolting it in without some large washers or some other reinforcement.
You cant be sure until you get the seats and mock them up. Buckets did not come stock in these trucks so whatever you do will be a custom job so expect to have to customize the truck.
While that is true im just tryin not to get myself into a situation where im going to have fabricate something in order for it to work seeing as i cant weld or anything so im just trying to dig up as much info before hand as possible ya know?
