Welcome to FTE. You mentioned dealership and taking it to them, let us help you figure this out, it could be something as easy as tightening up a clamp to maybe changing out something, intercooler, up-pipes, boots exct., in other words, save yourself a ton of money in labor cost. The guys got yaa on the right path, look for soot around connections.
A "pop" followed by more whistle is almost always a blown boot, but those are very obvious. I blew mine off after doing some mods and it nearly gave me a coronary. Build that leak tester -- you can do it for a few $$$. Here's what mine looks like:
All you need is a 3" PVC cap (scuff it up good with a rasp or something around the lip to give the intake hose something to hold onto), an air nipple, a 1/4" NPT tap, and some Teflon tape.
it COULD find a valve to go out of, but ive had great luck and never really had it happen on my diesel. If it does leak out the exhaust, Ive wanted to pressureize that system as well, and then you could find your exhaust leak everyone always talks about.
If you are somewhat mechanically inclined, you should do all the work yourself. Ask questions on here, and if you are close to someone, we always enjoy meeting new people and wrenching on trucks.
Personally, I dont like putting 90+ psi into my system that was not designed for it. Regulate it down to about 40psi to prevent potential other issues.
Get onto riffraff site and order up some boots and maybe some plenum inserts, I lost a turbo due to leaking boots, never again will that happen to me.
I still have not yet to find any leaks anywhere some other people have told me that it could have been a misfire in the engine because of some bad gas and that i should put in a fuel treatment system to help maybe unclog something but I am going to keep checking and see if theres not something I can find or figure out

Bad fuel shouldn't cause whistling should it? Have you checked the turbo for play? Take the tube out and see if the blades have contacted the housing. Also check for shaft play.

I still am trying to find someone with an air compressor for the air leak test I put the fuel treatment in but I kind of allready knew that wasnt going to be the issue and after checking all the hoses or boots to the turbo and intercooler and have not found any holes or cracks in them I am guessing it has to be the intercooler.
