Should the New Super Duty Ride like a Luxury Car?

Super Duty Limited

54LFL actually made the switch himself, and couldn’t agree more.

“Yeah, I don’t understand the complaining honestly (I’ve seen a lot of this). I came from a Lexus GS sedan, then went to a 2016 F-150 Platinum. I knew I was getting a truck, but one that did drive more like a car. Until I realized I didn’t buy enough truck for the camper I wanted. Then I made an expensive upgrade to a 2017 Super Duty F-350 Platinum.

I knew the capability of this truck going in. I knew it would be stiffer and not handle like a sports car. But I also knew it could yank a house out of its foundation with the power and torque it has. I couldn’t be more in love with this truck. Any vehicle made is going to have compromises. Somewhat similar to the whole “Fast, Good, Cheap…you can only pick two” philosophy.”

Quite a few members also chime in to note that they don’t experience any rattles or squeaks in their Super Duty pickups.

“As a data point mine does not have any squeaks/rattles,” notes grouperjim. “Not a single one. The truck is just as solid and smooth as any of my TDI VWs, including a Toureg. The F-250 is actually quieter in the cabin with respect to outside ambient noise. Phenomenal, actually.”

“2017 F-350 Platinum SRW here,” adds 54LFL. “5,500 miles, zero squeaks or rattles. Or if there are any, I certainly don’t notice. I’d definitely take it back to the dealer if so.”

Super Duty Limited

So perhaps the OP just got a dud of a Super Duty? Or does he have a valid point? We tend to side with the rest of the members here, believing that comparing a Lexus passenger car with an HD truck is a little silly. Sure, they may cost the same, but you’re paying for content. And when was the last time you saw a Lexus sedan pull a horse trailer?

But we still want to know what you think! Does your Super Duty rattle and squeak? If so, did you expect it to, or are you disappointed? Head over here and chime in with your thoughts on this hot button topic!
