Check out this old ad for the 1961 Ford F-600 two-tonner. This baby blue behemoth is getting a hay-filled workout on a rather picturesque farm in this advertisement.

The advert states that the “F-600 two-tonner offers a new power choice for ’61, including the big all-truck 152-hp Six (available about Feb. 15). And the longer front and rear springs mean a smoother ride – without rubber-robbing independent front suspension.”

The “Big Six” 262 cubic inch engine offered “big new power for the big jobs.” The two-ton F-600 also boasted heavier, huskier frames and stronger, quieter  cabs for 1961.

Now if only Ford could give us an “available about” date for the all-new F-150…
