Beautiful ’65 Ford F-100 Belongs to Luckiest 16-Year-Old Ever

By -

Was your first vehicle as nice as this old Ford truck, or were you stuck driving some crappy hand me down econobox?

Most of us can still remember our very first vehicle. And unless you’re lucky, it was probably some kind of hand-me-down economy car. No, most of us just weren’t as blessed as Ford Truck Enthusiasts member Alex Maksimiak. Now just the tender age of 16, he’s already driving around in a truck that many folks twice (or thrice) his age would love to own. And he shared his little slice of classic Ford truck envy with us in this thread.

“I’m new to this forum. I am 16 and drive this monster! What do you think? It is a 1965 Ford F-100 with a 390 V8. I have custom porcelain headers on it. Ohhhhh does she scream. It was going to be a daily driver but then I realized how nice it is. Plus the mpg is like 10, which is really bad. So I am going to pick up a beater car for a daily and bring this out on the weekends.”

Funny enough, most who chime in initially do so to give the OP some hard learned advice.

“Very nice,” said ibuzzard. “Don’t ever sell it, you’ll regret it. Maybe not now, but soon, and for the rest of your life.”

“You are blessed to have this,” added jjriley97. “My first car was a ’65 Malibu that we did sell later on and I really miss it. Keep it for sure.”

“You’ll go through phases in life but do not sell this,” said spatzboy. “As nice as this is now, when you are older this will be crazy nice!”

If we didn’t know any better, we’d think that there are a lot of FTE members who regret selling a vehicle at some point in their life. And they’re also quick to advise the OP to drive safely as well.

“Take it from those who have learned the hard way and have always regretted it,” said skidoorrulz. “I had a ’68 Impala SS with a 375 horse 396 when I was in high school. Paid $700 for it and it had only 38l miles on it in ’74 when I bought it. I ruined it by doing stupid things. That is the only car I ever wish I had back. That and a ’68 Toronado with a 425 horse 455. Ruined it also. Keep it, cherish it, and take care of it. They don’t make them anymore and never will.”

All great advice, of course. But that doesn’t stop the OP from sharing a video of him romping on it a bit. But who can blame him, given how nice it sounds? We personally wish this young man the best and welcome him to the FTE family. And we encourage you to do the same by heading over here and dropping him some well wishes. Or, maybe a few words of envy!
