Nice looking truck. Is this going to be a daily driver? I drove a '66 shortbed in HS but in the 70's it was just an old truck, nothing special and didn't stand out at the time.

It was going to be a daily driver but then a noticed how nice it is + the mpg is like 10mpg so its really bad so I am going to pick up a beater car for a daily and bring this out on the weekends.

Very nice! Don’t ever sell it, you’ll regret it.

Maybe not now, but soon, and for the rest of your life.

Very nice. You are blessed to have this.

My first car was a 65 Malibu that we did sell later on and I really miss it. Keep it for sure.

Keep your head out of your *** too, and don't wrap it around a tree or get T-boned. That's too often how this story ends. Unfortunately.

Sage advice, Ted Very few of us have taken it to heart, sadly.

Take it from those who have learned the hard way and have always regretted it. "Keep your head out of your ***". I had a 68 Impala SS with a 375 horse 396 when I was in high school. Paid 700 dollars for it and it had only 38K miles on it in 74 when I bought it. I ruined it by doing stupid things. That is the only car I ever wish I had back. That and a 68 Toronado with a 425 horse 455. Ruined it also. Keep it cherish it and take care of it. They don't make them anymore and never will

I learned to drive in a '62 unibody short bed. Wish I had it back. What transmission and rear end gears do you have? You should be able to get better mileage unless you really like stomping on the gas.
My '64 F250 with a 390, T-18 4speed and 4.56:1 rear end averages close to 13mpg as long as I stay below 60.

Alex what you have done to us old guys is NOT COOL! We start out with issues and try as we will to get to where you are starting at it is unobtanium. We have been where your at and know that it has a slim chance of survival. Also it's not MPG it's SMILES PER MILE. Take it to some local car shows and you will see what we mean.

I've seen Tedster9 give a lot of good, useful advice on these old trucks...besides avoiding cranial rectosis !
