All the New Ford Models Set to Debut in 2026 (And Potential Surprises)

We can look forward to at least a few new Ford models in 2026, though there will certainly be some surprises along the way, too.

Ford has been busy altering its future strategy in some pretty major ways as of late, with its focus on electric vehicles now shifting to those built on the future Universal EV Platform. At the same time, Ford canceled its second-generation F-150 Lightning and E-Transit, replacing them with an extended range electric vehicle (EREV) version of the former, and an affordable gas/hybrid powered van. As for new Ford models, overall, we certainly have a lot coming in the next couple of years.

That includes new “affordable” pickups built at what was formerly known as the Tennessee Electric Vehicle Center, now called the Tennessee Truck Plant, and that’s just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. The Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair may have just been discontinued, but these new Ford models will more than likely fill the gap – and then some.

New Ford Mustang Variant(s)

Spy photographers have spotted several interesting Mustang prototypes out testing for months now, wearing wider bodywork, large wheels and tires, and more aggressive front fascias with additional cooling. Rumors thus far suggest that we’re looking at the return of the Shelby GT500 – or, perhaps two different new models that could revive the Cobra and Boss (Dark Horse Boss) nameplates. In either case, we fully expect these vehicles to debut in 2026, perhaps as soon as the Detroit Auto Show this month.

Oddly enough, when the redesigned Ford Ranger debuted in the U.S. for the 2024 model year, it did so without the popular off-road-focused Tremor trim that existed in the lineup of the prior pickup. Sure, the Raptor is a fantastic machine, but some folks don’t need or want something quite that hardcore. Given the fact that the new Ranger Tremor is already on sale in certain global markets like Australia, it seems highly likely that we’ll see it in the States this year, though nothing is confirmed as of now.

We do know for certain that Ford is developing a new, mid-size, EV pickup that will be built at the Louisville Assembly Plant following its massive retooling, as production is expected to kick off in 2027, with deliveries beginning soon after. Ford is targeting a $30k price tag for this new model, which could revive the Ranchero nameplate, and it’ll utilize lithium iron-phosphate (LFP) battery packs built by Ford at the new BlueOval Battery Park Michigan plant.

Ford Racing Production Road Car

Back in November, Ford Racing announced that it would be hosting a 2026 motorsports season kickoff event in Dearborn, where it will showcase a variety of racing machines and drivers, along with a few announcements. One of them is an “exclusive sneak peek” at an all-new Ford Racing production road car, though it failed to provide any more details as to what that unique machine might be. Ford did say that this car is “a testament to how deeply we’re integrating our racing innovation into the vehicles you drive every day. The racetrack is our ultimate proving ground, fast-tracking developments that will soon be under the hood and in the chassis of your next Ford.”

Other Possibilities

There are certainly other possibilities as to what new Ford models we might see debut this year – including, perhaps, some new Raptor variants, as a Blue Oval executive previously hinted at. We also know that Ford plans to build more vehicles on its UEV platform, and it’s possible that we may be treated to a preview of its new “affordable” truck models, or perhaps EREV options for larger vehicles like the Super Duty and Expedition – things that CEO Jim Farley himself has hinted at in some recent comments.
