2000 Ford F-150 ‘Buccaneer Tailgater’ Is Ready for NFL Kickoff Weekend
Tampa Bay Bucs fans will love this 2000 Ford F-150, which is ready to tailgate with zero pre-game setup required.
With NFL kickoff weekend coming up fast, we can finally kiss summer goodbye and move onto the best part of the year – fall. Cooler temperatures, spectacular colors, and most importantly, football are on the way, and fans of the reigning Super Bowl champions and Blue Oval trucks are sure to love this 2000 Ford F-150 that’s currently up for sale at Adventure Classic Cars in Clearwater, Florida.
Dubbed the “Buccaneer Tailgater,” an homage to the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, this F-150 XL has been transformed from a work truck into a party truck with a host of modifications that start with a flatbed that’s perfect for those hot, early season September games. The custom bed is fitted with swiveling tractor seats, a table, umbrella, storage bin, lighting, marine radio and speakers, and even a fire extinguisher for safety’s sake.
The truck itself is painted the appropriate shade of red and features the Bucs’ logos on the doors and “Tailgater” in big letters on the back of the flatbed, in case anyone doesn’t get the reference here. And instead of hauling around some small cooler for beverages, this pickup is truly ready to party with its rather large Coke cooler trailer for serious pre-game libations. Or water, which you need a lot of when tailgating in the Florida heat.
The cool thing about this F-150 is that it’s truly a mobile affair, and a clever one at that. While everyone else is spending hours setting up their tailgate by hauling everything out of the back of their vehicles, the owner of this truck can simply roll up, crack a cold one, and get to work. To us, that’s precisely what a tailgate should be – more play, and much less work.
While this F-150 is otherwise just a basic pickup with Ford’s 4.2-liter V6, a manual gearbox, and a bench seat, it’s really designed only for game days, so you won’t be missing those massaging seats or other fancy amenities new trucks provide. No, this Tampa Bay tailgater was built for one purpose, and one purpose only – to maximize the pre-game fun before kickoff every Sunday.
