1992 speedo/odometer not working

I have a 1992 f150 4X4 w/5.0, auto. Just changed the tranny. Got one out of a 1995 with a metric tranny, wich mine wasn't. But the wiring interchanged and everything seems to work EXCEPT the speedometer/odometer. Totally blank. With my old tranny they both worked. Also on the 95 they both didnt work before I pulled it. I just assumed it was a fuse. But it wasnt.

Dose the 92 have a speedo cable? I know the 95 will use the VSS for speedo not cable. You might have to go to an after market speedo.

What transmission was in the 92 (AOD or E4OD)?
What transmission was in the 95 (4R70W or E4OD)?
Metric dose not mean anything, my old 1983 AOD had Metric on the bottom of the pan.
The speedometer is the same in a 1992 as the 1995, the transmission has nothing to do with it in an F-series truck.
