1970? F600 VIN Decode

I have located what I think is a 1970 F600 Cab/Chassis. It has an FE series engine in it with a 4 speed transmission and 2 speed rear axle. Can someone decode these numbers?
VIN: F61CKH52419
Model: F61
Body: 4C8
Trans: A
Axle: F3D
164 HP @ 3800 RPM

VIN: F61CKH52419
Model: F61 The MODEL code is composed of 4 digits, the 4th is missing.
Body: 4C8
Trans: A
Axle: F3D
164 HP @ 3800 RPM
F61 = F600 2WD (gas).

C = 330 2V Meduim Duty FT engine.

K = Kansas City Assembly Plant.

H52419 = 1970.

F61? = F600. I cannot post what the GVWR is without the 4th digit.

4C8: 4C = Black Heavy Duty all Vinyl / 8 = 81A Standard Cab.

A = New Process 435 4 Speed Manual Transmission.

F3D: F3 = Eaton Model 15201 2 Speed Rear Axle / 6.33/8.81-1 / 15,000 lb. Rear Axle Capacity // D = Ford Rockwell Timken-Front Axle / 7,000 lb. Front Axle Capacity.

164 net HP @ 3,800 RPM.

The 1968/72 330 2V Medium Duty FT engine shares a few parts with the 360 2V FE engine, the crankshaft is the same.

FE engines were not installed in anything larger than an F350.

Bill,
Thanks for that information.
I assume that the FE/FT engines are interchangeable so is there any way to tell externally which engine it is? Or do the 330/360/390 all look the same?

The engines are not interchangeable. People do swap them around, but it's not a simple bolt in installation.

The 330 2V Medium Duty FT engine shares some parts with FE engines.

The FT 330 2V HEAVY Duty, 361 2V & 391 4V share only a few parts with FE engines.

FE/FT engines look basically the same. The exhaust manifolds are different, as are the carbs, some of which are Holley's with governors mounted on them.

The front/rear engine mounts are different. FT's have one front mount in the center, two mounts at the rear connected to ears on the bellhousing-then to the crossmember.

The only FE engines that mount like this are 1965 F100/250 4WD 352 / 1966 F250 4WD 352 / 1965/67 F350 352. All other FE's have two front mounts, one rear.

Strip all the accessories off, and without a bellhousing, your guess is as good as mine whether the engine is an FE or FT!

I think the C70 is for C700 series.
I do not know what the N is for.
I think the U is for made in Louiville.
