Vin Decode Help on a C-600 Cabover
I purchased a C-600 Cabover. It was originally a 391, and is 5 speed with a two speed rear axle. I bought it from an estate sale. I am applying for a title right now, and I need help decoding the vin plate and the year of the truck.
The Vin is *C6OMU646925*
Underneath it is the model/body number 153-C600-691A-1-F7
DSO:36
Attached to this post is some pictures of the tag. and truck. I will post some more pictures after I clean it up.

If you want the info, you'll have to type the codes as they appear on the plate.
C60 = C600 Tilt Cab (gas).
M = 330 2V Heavy Duty FT engine (if it was a 391, the code would be 9).
U = Louisville KY Assembly Plant.
646925 = 1965.
36 = Louisville KY Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.
Note: FoMoCo used different VIN engine codes for FT engines in 1964/65 than they did 1966/78.
1964/65 TRANS & AXLE codes may also be different than 1966/78.

Hey I was hoping to bug you for a 19
66 C-600 vin plate decode as well, also everything I can come up with is telling me that the 361 was only available with a 2v carb and I’ve also read that they didn’t offer a 361 XD (which is just what I have read from forums) I’m new to the c-600’s AND this site so I’m still learning but this engine has a 4bbl Holley and a 361 XD decal on the air cleaner and the guy that had it before said it was the original engine. Your help would be greatly appreciated!!

361 was available with an optional 4V from 1974 thru 1978. FoMoCo added XD (Xtra Duty) to 361 after 1972. It doesn't really mean anything, it was mainly used as a "sales ploy."
C61 = C600 Tilt Cab (gas).
E = 361 XD 2V or 4V FT engine.
V = Kentucky Truck Assembly Plant.
V87276 = 1975.
153" Wheelbase.
M = Wimbledon White.
C617 = C600 Tilt Cab (gas); 21,200 lbs. GVWR
4A8: 4A = Black H/D Vinyl with Full Width Seat // 8 = 91A Standard Cab.
JA: J = CA Emission // A = New Process 435 4 Speed Manual Transmission.
62M: 62 = Rockwell-Timken model F106 Single Speed Rear Axle / 6.80-1 / 15,000 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity // M = Ford 7,000 lbs. Capacity Front Axle with Power Steering.
21,200 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.
71 = Los Angeles (SoCal) Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

well I was told wrong about it then, also what’s strange is the truck has a 2 speed rear axle in it, well someone just must have upgraded. Thanks for checking into that for me and getting the info on here fast
