HO intake vs. Regular EFI truck intake?? Which is better??

I just swapped my trucks stock intake for a mustang HO intake after rollerizing the whole system and boring the engine thirty thousandsth over stock. and i dont feel that i am getting really any more power out of the HO intake. is it better at all that i put the intake on or was the truck intake already pretty good? and what about a gt40 intake will that fit a 5.0? and would it be any better?

what about the gt 40 i know they used it on the lightnings and it made like 50 more horsepower over the regular f150 i think? and i have heard that it is capable of making pretty hefty gains in hp

The Gt 40 intake is good . The lightnings have them with the gt 40 heads , i think there like 240 HP stock . with a better cam they can do better . the 5.0 truck intake is good to 350-400 hp....Lew

OK hold on a minute.. what cam is in this motor? The cam makes more difference than the intake does and should be selected to complement the rest of the engine combo, but that depends what your goals are too.
The HO intake is better suited to a 5.0 with stock heads than the truck intake, but that means it will help produce more TQ at low to midrange rpms, not more peak HP. If that's your goal then you want a GT40 top end, but that also means the truck will need gears too.

i have a mild cam and stock heads with roller rockers and lifters in my truck, with shorty headers and the engine is bored out too. and my goal is to make as much hp and torque as i can. i just cant get into putting new heads in because i just finished the ones i have in now and i have a lack of funds. which is why im trying to find the best intake possible for the motor
