Transmission shaft stuck in T-case HELP!
OMG I CANT WIN!
My problem is I was removing the transfer case and the shaft that goes into the transmission is stuck in the transfer case. When I tried to remove the t-case the shaft started to come out of the transmission and 2 gears are not on the shaft anymore. WHY will the shaft not come out of the T-case???!!! I tried to pry a little but I don't want to mess up the bearing or anthing else. I could take the shaft out of the tranny and just stack the gears so I know where they went but I seem to be having trouble with that as well. The shaft only comes out so far before stopping and I'm afraid to mess it all up. I NEED it out so I can replace the flywheel and the clutch. Trying to get ready for an April 4th off road trip with my club.
I don't think I'm going to make it!

Will it go back together? if so, you could get to the clutch by pulling both the trany and transfer together. Quite a bit heavier. I've done it but used a good trans jack.
I have seen where the trans shaft siezes in the transfer case. Not a lot of fun. If you can get it apart enough, try to shoot some penetrating oil down the shaft. I like Kroil myself, seems to do pretty good. That shaft coupling is in a dry area - no oil. They can rust.
