torque converter woes
This morning I was hauling my boat out to the fishing hole and when it would shift into overdrive the torque converter would lockup then immediately unlock. I would accelerate and it would lockup and immediately unlock again. It did this most of the trip there then it starting locking up like it normally did. But on the way home it wouldn't lockup the whole trip. I checked my fluid and it was full but the color was a touch off. I changed the fluid about 6k ago. The truck has a e4od in it and 241k on the speedo. I believe the converter is going out but any recommendations and help would be appreciated! Thanks

I drove into work this morning no troubles. I don't live too far from work so the tranny probably wasn't warmed up all the way. As i think about it the same thing happened the weekend before last when i took the boat out. But it would lockup on the way home. I do have a ts performance 6 position switch i usually run it in the 4th position. If i recall it specifically tells you not to tow in the last 2 positions. When i bought the truck it had a intercooler in it and it shimmed the fpr and replaced the intercooler with one i made. By the way the boat and trailer only weight a touch over 1000lbs together. Thanks!

Hmmmm.....mine wants to lock when giving it some fuel but when i let off it unlocks. But only does this when im towing. I read on the net someone with a similiar problem i think mine is actually slipping out of od and just back into drive. When it would try to go into overdrive there was a quite a few hundred rpm difference when it would go into overdrive and when it would slide back into drive. Thats why i'm thinking it might be the mlps. Thanks for the replys!

Well I have a update on my truck. I took the boat back out this morning and the trip there was the same as last time slipping in and out. But I discovered something odd on the way home. It didn't even act up once til I went to move into the left lane and hit my turn signal at highway speeds. The rpms jumped right up and it did the same when I turned the lights on just to test it out. When I would turn the lights or the turn signals off the rpms would go back to normal. Does anyone have any ideas why it would do this? It only seems to do this when I am pulling a load and the lights are on. Any help would be appreciated!
