So last week the hyperbooster went out in the truck. I had to get it towed to the dealership. This truck only has 32,000 miles on it and is an 05....So $800 later...Can yall think of any reason why it went out already?

What's a "hyperbooster"? I've never heard of that before.
ya i know sounds made up..they said it has to do with the power steering and braking system. I was backing up one day and all of the sudden I lost all power steering and the brakes would not work. Got out of the truck and all of the power steering fluid was leeking everywhere. I wish I knew more the service guys were not very helpful at all. Now sometimes when I turn it makes this groaning sound.

same thing happened to me in my old truck (99 7.3) as i was driving on a 2 lane hi-way going 55 mph just before i was going to pick up a boat. i lost all power steering and the brake pedal didn't go down, even with me standing on it, or stop the truck at all. ended up downshifting the tranny to 2nd then 1st and it really slowed the truck down but i couldn't steer and ended up driving off the side off the road down an the truck got a little air almost flipped (13" Lift on 40's) but the suspension maxed out and absorbed the jump (props to King Shocks and Deaver Springs) and all and all everything ended up ok. had to get the truck towed and get a new hydrollic assist thingy plus some suspension parts that got tweaked.
bottom line very dangerous and i was hoping the 6.0 didn't have the same systemen
its worth the money get it fixed, and fixed right!
the whole unit went out...ya i got a little confused bc the service guy at ford kept calling it a hyperbooster but i just looked at my service ticket and it does say hydro....I asked them why did it go out so soon...they had no idea of course...do yall have any idea?
I think I remember seeing a Ford TSB about the hydroboost, but I think it had to do with a leaky hose connection into the hydro. Maybe you didnt have any fluid running through the pump.
all the hydrobooster is is a valve, there is a spool valve that u move with the pedal which allow P/S pump pressure to assit in braking, while allowing pressure to still be used for steering
ya well get ready to spend 800 what a rip off. Thank god this did not happen to me on the road or else it could of been really bad. I wish ford would of cut me a break on this.
