CAI and warranty??

anyone running the volant CAI and have warranty denied?? i'm thinking of getting one to compliment my SCT Xcal3... my dealer is relatively mod friendly, so is it best i ask them first, or does someone know that the volant is safe without voiding warranty??

You shouldn't have any problems with the Volant and warranty. The only way they can void warranty is if they find something directly caused by the CAI. I have had no problems taking mine into the dealer with it on for warranty deals.

Do as you please, talking to your dealer is a complete waste of your time. They may says it's cool today, but if you need a repair done that might have something to do with your CAI or any other mod. They'll throw it back in your face.

If worse comes to worse, keep your old intake and throw it back on before bringing the truck in.

Get the tune custom done with the intake in mind. Otherwise you often risk a lean a/f condition. If you lose a piston or burn a valve from something like that it'll be pretty easy for them to spot why.

I don't advocate fraud - my mods stay put when I go to the dealer. If one makes mods they ought to be responsible for the results, not Ford. I've gone in for service and been denied a claim, as well as gone in and got warranty service. When denied, I don't cry about it.

understood... i like to ask the dealer about it anyway. they give me the idea that if i go in for so much as an oil change and the wrong guy smells the mods, he'll void the warranty... how can they void warranty if there's no claim being made and nothing wrong??
