od button ?

my od button is broke off on my column well the whole tip is pretty much broke off is there any way i can dissengage od or put it on my truck is always on od -i didnt know there was a button there till i rode in my buddys 96 lightning

The trans is allway's OD engaged.
The button is to disengage the OD.
Its a momentary switch.

i know my button is broke i was wonderin if i can cram somethin in there to disengage

Just replace the assembly.
You really want the lamp to work to notify you in the event of a failure.

what all would i have to replace just the shift column or the whole deal

or, you can replace just the larger part on the end

theres no wires or nothin hanging out of it how does that mechanism work is it electric or just a lever

start twisting the end back and forth and pull it off. DONT twist around and around. just a lil back and forth. i believe it has a connector in there. you can get by with just the end being replaced if the wires arent broken down at the column

i've never had one apart all the way, but i believe theres a connector. we had to replace the whole thing on our 02
