Has anyone done the one touch down window mod?

I just bought a mudule off of eBay and wired it in to my 90 Bronco. I attached it to the tailgate window switch. Now when I use the window it does not one touch down like it should. However it does work fine in normal operation. I cna get the window to go up and down just fine but none of the one touch down feature. Any ideas? Thanks.

Your rear window used to do a one-touch down? I wish mine did that Is this something they started doing in the 90's models?

No, I'm adding the circuit to the switch that allows you to do the one-touch down. I'm not sure what the issue is cause the wiring is really straight forward. I was checking it out and noticed that my window switch will work without the blue/black wire (+12V on ACC and RUN) connected. I can take ground off too. Very odd.

Solved it. It turns out the wiring was not done right. I used tap connectors and they didn't tap properly. Once I redid them the module works fine. Now I can open the back up real quick.

eBay is where I found the module, got it for $20+shipping. The module which comes out of a Taurus SHO. You can also get one from the pick and pull.

The install instructions for a Taurus are here, use this for reference:
SHO Window Switch

The install was real easy. On a 90 Bronco the switch has the following wires:

Purple/Blue is the down wire
Purple/Green is the up wire
Black is ground
Blue/Black is +12V on ACC and RUN

Basically take the Purple/Blue and cut it splice the module's Red wire to the motor and the Blk/White to the switch, the window down is the only one to cut everything else is a tap. The Blue/Blk is tapped in to the Blue/Blk on the switch. The Yellow is tapped to the up wire, Purple/Green. Black goes to ground, either one on the switch will work.

Check your wiring cause my taps didn't cut the wire right and caused the module to not work.

The module will work for any window so get three if you want to work all three windows. It will not work from the key in the tailgate, you need an extra module back there if you want the key to work.

You ought to submit a tech article to Ken on this. It would be a good one...

I had purchased 3 modules, one for each window. They are from AutoLoc. I forget what I paid for them, since I had installed them about 2 years ago. Now I couldn't do without them. Here's the sight = http://www.autoloc.com/

I did that a year ago and it never got published. Here's the writeup that I posted then:

That was a good write up. Did Ken ever get back to you? If you took pics and sent it in a format he could work with, I don't see why he wouldn't post it. There's been recent additions to the tech section. I'd contact him again. That kind of retrofit type info is good to have. Might have just been an oversight.
