A plan, x Plan pricing vs dealer invoice

i recieved A plan pricing through a dealer and read on some threads that people were negotiating under invoice. Is a plan and x plan the way to go or should i try to find the invoice and negotiate from there. Is A plan higher than invoice???

Help please

thanks

kohls28,

A Plan is the lowest there is if you can get A Plan then grab it. Everyone wishes they could get A Plan.

Go to the New Truck Buyer section of this forum and do a search and read the posts on the different plans if you would like a better understanding of the different plans.

Hope this helps, and welcome to the site

You need to find out what the invoice is for the particular truck that you are looking at. Find out all of the options that it has on it and look it up on kbb.com..... That way you know what the real numbers are even thought the sales rep may tell ya different. Prior to finnally buying my truck I walked away from quite a few really ticked off sales rep's. They hate it when you know what you are talking about and they can't give ya the run around. Also find out about all of the current rebates that you are eligable for at the time of the deal. New and different rebates come out all the time and many are not advertised. The sticker on mine was a little over $38,000 but after tt&l I paid right at $31,000. So stick to your guns when dealing.

A-Plan price is set by FMC it is the lowest price out there. If you qualify for A-Plan all pricing is set by FMC not dealer, price to buyer is less than dealer can buy the vehicle for. It is all printed out by FMC, dealer just hands the keys and takes the check in this case.

This thread really belongs up in the "New Truck Buyer" section of forum. Maybe admin will come by and move it up.

Do a search on A-Plan on this site for more info. Hope this helps.

Both the A-plan and X-plan pricing is listed by Ford on the dealer invoice. X-Plan is A-Plan +4% +$150. Both will require you to have a PIN number that the dealer will need and you will be required to sign a form from Ford stating the prices/invoice was shown, etc. Under both plans the "profit" and "Costs" the dealer can recoop from Ford/you are set.

Also, all incentives and special financing deals apply as well as the option to lease a vehicle, not just a purchase.

I purchased my truck (everything but moon-roof and electric sliding rear window) for 37K from a sticker of 46K thru the x-plan plus incentives. I could get an A-plan price as my brother had used up all his for the year. The difference between A-plan and X-plan was about $1400. Since I was having problems pulling my 12500# boat out of the ramps with my 2x4 truck, I couldn't wait the 6 months until he was able to purchase and additional A-plan vehicle.

I think I got the S plan too. Does that stand for screwed? After negotiating for hours to what I thought was a fair price, I go to the finance department and it was $1,000 more. They added $700 for the alarm that was already on and said wasn't included in the negotiated price and they charge a $300 documentation fee for some guy to fill out a few forms on the computer. I won't be buying from that dealer again.
