Found a 2013 f350 lariat window sticker says 61,650 dealer showed me apiece of paper showing invoice about 57,100it had a plan d plan and x plan pricing does this sound like the right pricing for dealer cost 57,100 I thought this seams like a high price for dealer invoicing what do you think? ishopped around and they seam to give me 4000 more on trade then any other dealer .
That does seem a little high for the invoice, usually the dealer mark up is more than $4k over invoice on a fully loaded truck. Go to truecar.com or edmunds.com and build an identical truck and it will show the true invoice and see if they match up
I don't know about dealer invoicing, but you should be able to get that truck for around $50K. Check out Mac Haik Ford Houston's web site for pricing. Theirs is a pretty good indicator of the type of deal you can get.
You can go to a website such as edmunds and see the invoice prices for each option on the truck. Add those up and see what it comes to. The dealers I've worked with will typically send me the invoice via email if I ask for it.
Add fuel surcharge and adv assessment to dealer invoice
Online web sites that show dealer invoice do not include the above charges, but the dealer will add this on. Also destination charge. The F-250 I looked at had a $131 fuel surcharge, a $660 advertisement assessment and a $995 destination charge added on to the "dealer invoice". The dealer said these are fixed charges that he must pay to the factory. Lots of forum discussion indicating that these are valid fees that the dealer pays, and passes on to the customer.
Here's a typical Ford invoice. Yes you will pay the destination fee for sure. In the past, I've been able to negotiate the other fees such as the actual fuel charge vs what was stated on the invoice. You know that "free" tank of fuel they "give" you when you purchase a new vehicle well it's not free you pay for it. Most of the time you will have to pay the advertising fees which go into a fund the dealer uses for that but I've been able to get some or all of that off before. The other I've been able to get is some of the holdback.
My truck listed for just under $76,000.00 and I paid $59,001.00 for it. I had it built because what I wanted wasn't on the lot. I used CarCost and bought a membership. It gave me not only the retail cost of the truck and options but the actual cost and so I knew the real cost of the truck. Then it also gave me the incentives being offered, not only the ones the pubic is aware of but the ones that are hidden and only the dealer knows about. I also negotiated two free diesel fill-ups, two oil changes, a Ford Box liner, mudflaps, and the rain deflectors for the four windows as part of the deal. The salesman and sales manager couldn't believe I had that information and I know I got a heck of a deal in the end.
PS - you always lose when dealing your other vehicle as a trade in. Better to sell it privately if you can and have the time. It is worth it.
Good luck and in the end if you are happy with the price, go for it.

wow I didn't know you could actually spend that much money on one of these trucks even if you tried. my 2011 listed for 51k and I got it for just a little under 42k. basically invoice price should be roughly 10% off then incentives apply after that. $500 under invoice price should be the deal you should be after. one make sure its the correct invoice for the truck. next just send out an email to dealers in your area asking if they will do $500 under invoice. you will get some takers.

how much do you think a dealer should knock off for a demo model with about 5k on it.. I was offered invoice price minus all the hold back.. then the incentives.. so basicly just gave me the hold back.. how much dose ford give the dealership for a demo ?
Just bought a 2014 F350 Lariat in the Houston area by ordering it. Went to 2 dealers. MSRP as printed out on Ford form from both dealers was $57,700. One dealers printed invoice (and selling) price was $53,300 and the other's was $52,600. Don't know why they weren't both the same. The lower dealer also offered me $2,000 more for my trade. Guess who I bought from? Found out while shopping/dealing that I could get a big discount ($6000-8000) by buying off the lot, but couldn't find what I needed. Incidentally, its a 2-3 hour ordeal to get a real price (one they'll stand behind) from a dealer. The dealer with the higher price is one who runs lot's of TV adds that they have the lowest prices and will beat any dealer. The guy I bought from runs very few adds, but his lot was sure a lot busier.
