Question '87 1/2 ton radius arm bushings???

Howdy all,
I'm a bit stuck at present. I got new radius arm brackets and bushings for my '87 1/2 ton Clubwagon. My problem lies in the assembly of the new ones since the old ones are darn near unrecognizable. From what I gather, going from rear to front, it goes nut, smaller washer, bushing, bracket, spacer, bushing, and finally, bigger washer.
My problem is the general bushing position. One has a conical end and a hub on the other side that fits in the spacer nice. That would put the cone shape facing forward. The other has a squarish back that has a hub on it's end to fit the hole at the forward part of the bracket. Initially I thought the cone part went inside the rear body of the bracket. The problem is the hub on the other bushing is around 1/4" bigger than the hole in the spacer.
If any of you folks out there have any experience at this I'd love to hear back from you. This'll be the third time I get to dropp the exhaust and crossmember to get at the passenger side. I don't want to do it a fourth. Any pointers will be greatly appiciated!
Thanks,
-John R.

Hello again folks,
I think I got her. The cone shape went forward fine and crushes into shape. If any of you guys out there plan on doing this gig, get a come-along! It made all the difference in the world.
Thanks anyway guys,
-John R.

Good to here you got her figured out. If I were you I'd look on ebay for some shop manuals on cdrom.

My wife'd kill me if her keyboard looked like my manuals. That and I'm old fashioned in the respect that these darn boxes are harder to figure out than paper pages.
Any reason why these are different than my '90 F-150? Different brackets and bushing/spacer configuration.

P.S. I'm learning a bunch on this darn van. Not to mention loosing blood on a semi-regular basis. Watch out for the sheet metal around the rear of the motor!

I know all about the nuckle breaking, my little brother and I changes the oil pan on my 92 with the engine still in the van. Talk about a chore. Now a little over a year later, the pan gasket is leaking AND the front and rear main seals along with what looks like the rear cam seal.

Iodine and a butterfly bandage and I was back at it. With a leather glove of course.
I've still got the drivers side to go. More blood sacrifice I reckon.

Good luck.... You might wanna replace the king pins too, as they get sloppy over the years. It's not a bad process my dad and little bor did his in ~2 hours.

Thanks a bundle for the input. I do want this ole girl safe for taking my boys around. Thier sick of riding three across in the truck (F150). I do have to admit that thier legs have gotten longer and the pick up truck hasn't.
I'm sure they'd be thankful as well.
Thanks again,
-John R.
