Question about exhaust manifold paint
I see they make engine paint that supposedly withstands 1200°. Last summer I got my exhaust manifolds and crossover pipe painted with "natural" or "raw" Dupli Color engine paint which is good for 500°. This color looked more silver than natural. So I painted the crossover with Dupli Color satin black and I painted new used manifold with the same paint last week. Now I am thinking of painting over them with Very High Temperature semi gloss black which is good for 1200°.
So the question is, if I paint over the 500° paint with 1200° paint will it hold or will the engine paint underneath burn off and affect the higher temp paint on top? Or will the engine paint on them now hold up? I still have one manifold and the crossover pipe off so now is the time to do it if it needs it.

Thanks for all the help and advice, guys. That is what I will do. If it burns off and looks bad then I'll deal with it later.
