Question

engine painting

I am going to pull the engine out of my 72 f 250 monday...clean it and paint it ...has anyone ever used the hi heat clear coat ?? i didnt even know they made it until last week when i saw it at the parts house... thanks for any help Bruce

Clear coat seem fine as protectorant to existing paint but mine was way beyond that. If you get it let me know how it turns out.

I have had good results with black stove paint ..... looks good and stands up to 1200 degrees.

I painted mine with Ford Blue engine paint same as stove paint, up to 1200 degrees. I painted my exhaust manifolds with BBQ black. Some here said it will hold up for some time and that's good enough for me.
