I have a 2004 f350,i have an sct tune and will be replacing the ficm.Do i need to remove the sct before replacing ficm?Correct me if im wrong but the ficm tuning is seperate from the ecm tuning.If i leave the tune on will i lose it with the old ficm?thanks for your time

 

What you say is correct, but you should always return a vehicle to stock before doing work on it so you know that the pids are getting the right numbers. Tuners change the pids to get the performance out of your truck.

 

I think the SCT loads a tune on the PCM.

The FICM is not tuned unless you have loaded one on it or had it done.
