Key question

I bought a 2015 explorer ltd which came with only 1 "intelligent " key. I bought a key off of ebay to have for a spare. However having now read Ford's procedure, I need 2 programmed keys to make one. Is there a work around or is this a mandatory trip to the dealer?

Sorry, but you're about to make your dealer a bit richer. The system was designed this way to prevent the valet that parks your car from using the ONE key you gave him to duplicate a second key. You need both keys to program a new one yourself. And don't be surprised if the dealer refuses to program a key you bought from eBay!
