I have a 93 F-150 with 4.9L M5 transmission and when I push on the clutch peddle to shift, the peddle makes a popping noise. I looked under the dash and could not see any obvious problems. I did notice that the peddle has a bee hive looking spring I assume is a return spring.
Anyone ever have a clutch peddle make a popping noise and how did you fix it?

 

Does the feel change(as it pops) as you push it? Sounds like it needs some lubrication on the pivot pin or push rod bushing.

 

You can feel the pop in the peddle.
This truck has a slave cylinder not a rod in less your referring to the rod going to the hydrolic reservoir.

 

Make sure the clutch pedal assy. is not cracked or worn at the pivot point. This is a known problem.
