OD light flashing

My O/D light flashes from time to time on my 2003 Lincoln Navigator. When the light is flashing, I notice when shifting into another gear, it's a hard shift. Any suggestions on what should be done?

I suggest you get the codes read. The places that read codes free CANNOT read these codes. You need either a good independent shop or a Ford dealer. Without the codes all I can tell you is that something is wrong.
