disconnect the neg (-) battery cable for 5 minutes. This will clear the codes. If it comes back on relatively soon , ie. less then a month - Goto a shop and have them read the codes.
BE CAREFUL I had the od light flashing on my 95 explorer... brought it in to have the codes read, and their exact words "Codes said - incorrect 3rd gear ratio - by our analysis, your transmission is ready to blow at any moment, it is very important you get it done right away".... They cleared the codes, the OD light never started flashing again (sometimes computers DO mess up) - that was all 18k miles ago.
