Ex wouldn't start

Ex wouldn't start this AM, tried many times would only crank. 41 psi at rail with key on, no codes, all doors fully unlocked.

Put my foot to floor and it started with big cloud of grey smoke. What's the deal? Thought I'd come to the brethren for opinions!

Guessing diesel?
Plugged in?
Glow plug and glow plug relay/module been replacement lately?
What temp?

Of my four 7.3's only the dually don't start good in the cold not plugged in. When it's really hard to start will have to lay into the diesel pedal to get it to fire and keep on it until it catches. That truck has had the following replaced and or checked to ensure is working properly, batteries, glow plugs, glow plug relay, injectors, hpop (new adrenaline), and all battery connected tested. Starting to the think it's the PCM. The SRW years ago was a bear to start and we took the one out of the dually and that starts fine unplugged down to -10.

2 possibilities are key chip (do you have another key) or the CPS...You'll have to have more test times to see if the pedal had anything to do with anything

Would iac do this? Seems to only do it when cold. Did again today had to keep on gas pedal to keep it running.

It was cps! I removed 2 10mm bolts on ac compressor, pivoted it out of way and replaced sensor. Works great now.
