i have a 94 f-250,7.3. when i go to start it in the morning, i hit the glow plug , wont start, hit them 3/4 times still no start , then i have run down the batteries. i charged the batteries and plugged the truck up over nite. i came home from work tried to start it. i hit the glow plugs once and it started. i let it sit overnite again and did not plug it in. i came home from work and hit the glow plug once , nothing, hit them 3or 4 times , nothing. i ran the batteries down after about 4 times trying to start. could it be the glow plug relay? how can i check it or anything else that it may be?
If it fires up after ^^Bean Boys^^ suggestion then It's likely your GP relay is not working.
But it sounds like the batteries are shot. You should be able to crank on it more than 3-4 times
before they give up.
How many CCA's are they? Should be more than 750 CCA each IIRC.
Charge them up over night then have them load tested. They need to be disconnected from
each other for the test. Have your charging system checked too.
Be sure all the battery & starter connections are clean and tight.
