Bypassing ac compressor without removing compressor

Hello,
I would like to bypass the AC compressor, so I bought and installed the alternate belt. Installed it no problem.

My question is I did not remove the compressor and the back side of the belt touched the compressor just enough to make it spin. Starts and runs no problem.

Am I going to see any problems with this configuration? I'm just concerned this may cause undue ware on the belt.

Thanks.

It will make it wear out much faster especially if it's just barely touching and causing it to slip against the pulley

Remove it or put the old belt back on

Touches the compressor body or pulley? If it's the pulley just take the pulley off.

It takes a 10mm as I recall and snap ring pliers but why do you need to leave it on

As long as the compressor clutch bearing is not bad or clutch sticking, just put correct belt on and not worry about it.

Also a V6 in a 89 truck?

Thanks all. I'll try to remove the compressor pully. Or if I have to the entire compressor.

I spoke to the guy I bought it from and he thinks there is no freon left, so I'm not worried about venting the gas. Worrying about venting the gas is the whole reason I just didn't pull the compressor in the first place.

Anyone know of a tutorial or video on removing the compressor. I could probably figure out, but any up front help couldn't hurt.
