2015 Aux Reverse Light Wire

Hi All
Any one have a diagram or know which wire to tap so I can trigger/run my aux back up light? I tried tapping the existing wire behind the tail light and it didn't work, made the truck do funny stuff like killing the ignition. I had read on here on white knights web site that on the newer trucks you cannot use the back up circuit from the seven pin so I didn't try that. I don't have up-fitters and really didn't want to run a wire to the front but will if that is the best solution.
Thanks in advance.

Center wire in trailer plug. This is what Ford officially recommends.

I am using it for my backup camera.

You cannot use the blue reverse wire inside the cab as the BCM will see an over voltage and throw a fault.

White Knight sells a 7-pin adapter plug. It's a quick plug & play solution to power their backup light and trailer plug-in is unimpeded.

Sorry for the grainy photo

Good luck. I simply followed up the wire from the trailer plug on my truck and pulled back the wire loom. I cut the wire, stripped both ends, and soldered in my wire so all had a nice solid soldered connection. I then wrapped everything up in harness tape.

If you are planning to do a bunch of reverse lights, you should run a wire from the battery to a relay then have the relay connected to the backup wire but if you are just doing a single LED light or something like that, this should work fine.

I am just going to hook up a single "fog light" that I have had laying around to get some extra light. I should of ordered a back up cam but live and learn.

I tapped into the center wire on the 7 pin under the bumper and all is well. Thanks to all for the info.

when you tap into the middle wire. Did you run a negative wire back to the battery?

Just tap into the ground wire (#1) at the plug.
