Q for the mods about our foreign language speakers

Since we are a couple of German speaking guys on here right now and some of them are not so fluent in technical English I would like to offer some help in translating in certain threads.
Is it ok for the crew to have some German babbling on the forum ?

I'm half German so I will be looking forward to hearing some babble. My Mother is from Stuttgart, and my sister is currently living there.

I'm in Würzburg, so about an hour from Stuttgart away.
Half my family is Aussie, so I grew up with some interesting lingo

I'm thinking and hoping if we have any English as a secondary language members here on FTE someone who can or would translate would help them receive the information they need or want.

Not sure how this would be accomplished but I for one wouldn't mind it one bit.

I know some German, and what I don't know I can ask my Mother to translate. If it's something She doesn't know because it's automotive related, I have a few relatives over there that would know since they work in that industry.

Like I said in the first post, I am more than willing to help out our German speakers here. I have a car technician background and am fluent in technical English as well. I just want to have the ok from the mods, not to scare them with post they can't understand.

I really have no issues with it and like the idea.

All I ask is that the English translation is included in the post(s) as well. The majority of our participants here use English as their primary language and could benefit from the posted information, given the proper translation.

Very kind of you to offer this for us Karsten.....thank you.:;

I dont know if it would help but this is the site I use to translate stuff. Best way is usually 1 line at a time for accuracy: Many languages to chose from: I drive a school bus and deal with many folks have translated to spanish, farsi etc to be able to communicate with parents. Kids basically understand english!

How do you say.. | BabelFish ? Free Online Translator

Please find your translated text below:
• Ich möchte eine Hefeweissen bitte! (German) (From the previous post)
• I'd like a yeast white please! (English)

That's kinda why the human translator is needed, technical and parts terminology doesn't always yield anything recognizable.

Agreed---since we tend to use words and acronyms not typical to conversations outside vehicle servicing its best to rely on a translator who knows both the languages and general scope of our discussions or offers of help/advice.
