Loose Leather on Steering Wheel - Brand New Truck
I took delivery of a brand new 2014 4X4 Lariat this weekend . Thank you Truck Month. While driving home I noticed that the leather on the steering wheel was loose and wrinkled around the lower right spoke of the steering wheel. It looks like the adhesive they use to glue the leather to the wheel was never applied to that portion of the wheel. It's so loose that I can press it with my thumb and double the leather over. Kind of left me a little down after dropping $50K to buy the truck. Anyone else have this problem?

Looks like I didn't have enough posts to send PM's.
Anyway. I went back to the dealership where I bought the truck, and they want to try to fix the wheel by sending it out to an upholstery shop where they will try to glue the leather back down. I'm really not satisfied with that option. This is a factory defect in every sense of the word. QC at Ford should have caught the defect, but they didn't, so now I'm having to deal with it. I think I should get the new non-defective steering wheel I paid for. I don't know if it's Ford that wants to fix the wheel rather than replace it, or the dealership.
Am I off base here thinking they should replace rather than try to fix the defective part?

Life is good. I took my truck to a differnt dealership and they are going to replace the wheel with a new one tomorrow morning. Ford came through.
It's crazy. I love this truck. I actually look forward to my ride home in rush hour traffic because I gat to make the trip in my truck.
