I've been on one of those go fast 6.0 sites just reading around and injectors come up alot. These guys are crazy-but I did read one yesterday that was interesting. I think you see 175/30 and 195/30 or something like that alot but this feller was basically saying 225/xx and another big one would be the only one's he would sell if he rebuilt. The main point I have gotten from ALL of the reading on injectors is the NOZZLE is the important part of the injector size. Myself due to I don't know enough about this to make any decision I am scared to death about any injector other than oem as the "re-builders" I have zero information on who is good and who is bad--ie knows what they are doing, use only oem bodies, etc. This probably helps one zero percent but...

PS PSN, the org, and PSA are what I call go fast sites as it seems most of those guys are into modification and not longevity-IMO

I thought I saw some 155/? stock injectors somewhere but dont remember where I read about them. I am more interested in it being reliable. But if we can make it better and reliable why not.

I believe your right about 155/xx. Again from what I've read going bigger on injector is for power (not really reliability) But on the reliability side--this is why I am on the oem side versus a builder side--I just don't know anything about any of them and it's taking alot of reading and interpretation on those other sites to really tell who knows good info and who doesn't lol. Now I think Jeff Watts (I think I got that right) was looking at bigger injectors on his engine rebuild--can't recall the name of the company but out of all of them that are thrown around seemed to have the best info (for me at least)--ie injector xx built from oem injector yada yada yada. For these injectors you need xxx tuning, xxx turbo, egt monitoring, etc.

Got it. I have quite a few upgrades thinking that if there was a reliable source for slightly larger injectors I would be interested in them. I was thinking that there would be some others on this site that have used larger injectors and might chime in. Thanks.

I'd say if your going with a bigger turbo, lots of tune you would need something.
I think our stock injectors are good to 500hp or something like that. The other thing I got form the reading is the big (not necessarily what you're going with) aren't suited for towing so you have to balance it out and it's best to talk to the builder (who knows the best one) as they could tell you what would be best for your mods and what you intend to do with the engine.

Whatever the choice, whoever is doing the upgraded injectors make sure they start with a reman OEM Motorcraft injector.

The reman Motorcraft units have new spools, updated coils and all new internals unlike the majority of rebuilders.

You also need a larger more sophisticated fuel pump, the HFCM won't keep up very well depending on how much bigger you go. FASS or others to keep the fuel pressure up. Then you also need the turbo and the program to put it all together. I am not an expert on this, just what I have read, but it's the combination of fuel pump, injectors, tune and air that make it work.

Bingo --that's what I've gathered from the reading as well.
